CANYON SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL - November 15, 2003

By Charli Harshbarger

I would like to start of by sending a wholehearted Hollywood Knights welcome to Sharif Atkins and Tyler Hoechlin! Tonight we gathered to bring forth money for the Canyon Springs Business Academy. The Knights kicked butt yet again with a two-point lead over the Canyon Springs Faculty, with a final score of 78-76.

Jillian performed a breath-taking rendition of the National Anthem. Who knew such a powerful voice can come out of such a tiny person? Either way, she was amazing! Both faculty and Knights made many crowd pleasing baskets. The Knight’s put up a fight, that’s for sure, but pulled ahead in the end. Cylk and Jack were on FIRE getting points in for the HK team.

During the half time, new solo artist Angel (formerly of No Secrets) blew up the gym and had a great time doing it. Angel said, "I love coming out and performing!" And we love you coming out to perform. Also, during half time, Jillian continued the show and ended with a bang. Go Knights!

Question on the mind: Why did you join the HK team?

Cylk Cozart: Because when I was in high school I didn’t have anyone to look up to and now as a celebrity I look at it as that could’ve been me and what if what if I was in high school and celebrities came to my school and I got to talk to them and touch them and ask questions, what that would do for my confidence. I don't just do it with the HK; I do it all over the world.

Kiko Ellsworth: Cause I can’t play basketball. I’m usually a chicken chaser. I thought this would be better than chasing chickens tonight. Nah, I’m playing. It’s fun; it’s a great cause. I used to teach, also I work great with kids.

Arlen Escarpeta: Well, it’s a good charity. For one I love basketball, second, its cool to meet fans, fan friendly atmosphere. Take pictures, sign autographs, give out hugs, and give back to schools. It’s nice to raise money for the schools. I am hoping to go back to my school and do something for them too.

Sharif Atkins: Well, one of the team members Arlen [Escarpeta], of American Dreams. I saw him at some Hollywood functions and made mention of it and said for me to come out and try it and that’s what I did.

Tyler Hoechlin: Actually, through Josh. We were both at a Nickelodeon thing, and he said hey we have this little league where we play on weekends and I said sign me up.
